Tax collection policy
Real estate and personal property tax rates are set by the voters of the various taxing districts, not by elected officials. Since these rates reflect the will of the majority of the people, I feel that it is my responsibility to administer the billing process in a fair and equitable manner, without regard to any factor not prescribed by law.
To be fair to the vast majority of citizens who pay their taxes within the time frame allowed, my oath of office requires me to put forth all reasonable and legal effort to collect delinquent taxes. This is not enjoyable, but it is a responsibility I will not ignore.
